Hello, fellow simmers! Have you ever noticed how flat the background looks when you enter tab camera mode? Distant shadows disappear almost completely, making an otherwise stunning image appear lifeless. To fix this, today I'm presenting you with the Shadows for Days mod by Amoebae!
WHAT DOES THIS MOD DO? It tunes The Sims 4 graphics so when you enter tab mode, the shadows don't disappear. HOW DO I USE IT? 1. Download the mod here: https://www.simsdom.com/downloads/287389/shadows-for-days-a-visual-mod-version-1-0-1-by-amoebae-sims4 2. Extract the files. They should look like this:
The files we really need for this mod to work are VideoCamera.ini and GraphicsRules.sgr. 3. Go to your TS4 Bin folder (The Sims 4 → Game → Bin) and find the res folder.
4. Find the VideoCamera.ini file and make a backup copy just in case you want to revert the changes to your game later. 5. Go back to the mod files and copy the modified VideoCamera.ini file to your res folder, replacing the original one. 6. Copy the GraphicsRules.sgr file and place it inside the game's ConfigOverride folder (Documents → Electronic Arts → The Sims 4 → ConfigOverride). If you wish to use the mod as it is, then you're done! You can also tune the mod as you wish, by opening the VideoCamera.ini file inside a text editor and following the instructions inside the download page. These are some examples of how graphics look like before and after installing the mod:
