Hello, fellow simmers! Are y'all excited about the new water tool? For years we've been making lakes and ponds with very well-disguised pools. Trying hard to achieve that organic look, spending hours and hours to hide the pool trims... It wasn't easy. At all! But now it seems like EA is listening, and not only they gave us farm animals - which I'll be talking about in later posts -, they also came with this marvelous water tool for us to finally build actual lakes and ponds! Wanna see how I build a pond using the new features in this update? Follow the steps below! WHAT YOU WILL NEED Your Base Game updated to the 1.77.131.1030 version (PC), 1.77.131.1230 (Mac), or 1.44 (console). STEP-BY-STEP 1. Choose your lot.
2. Open the Terrain Tools.
3. Choose Terrain Manipulation.
4. Grab the Lower Terrain tool.
5. Choose your brush and adjust the size.
6. Adjusting the speed you get to control how fast the terrain will sink when you use the tool.
7. "Paint" your terrain with the brush to lower the ground, making a hole as big and deep as you need.
This is how mine came out:
8. Now grab the Water Tool.
9. Choose Raise Water and fill the hole, clicking inside it until the water is at the level you want it.
10. Go to Outdoor Water Decor.
11. Choose the water style you want. I'll use the Pond Water.
12. Now it's time to decorate your pond! In Pond Objects, Fontain Decorations, and Pond Effects, you'll find all sorts of things to place inside your pond - including insects, fish, and even ducks and swans!
Notice: when you first place the animated effects, they'll look like this:
The actual animals and animations will appear when you switch to Live Mode!
13. Optional: go to Outdoor PlantsRocks and place rocks around the borders of your pond!
This is my final result:
I live for these little ducks! If you liked this tutorial, don't forget to hit that "helped me" button below. Happy simming!
